And the Cucalorus 20 secret screening (and the final screening of the festival) is… Joshua Oppenheimer’s “The Look of Silence.” Anyone who came to last year's Cucalorus may recognize Oppenheimer’s name from the lineup, which featured his critically adored and utterly captivating documentary “The Act of Killing.” The Oscar-nominated film took aim at the murderers that responsible for the Indonesian communist genocides of the ’60s who still lack empathy for the victims and exude a shocking amount of pride in the crimes decades later. “The Look of Silence” is his follow-up to that film, moving the focus from the culprits to their victims.
